The "OFFICIAL" guns, ammo & stuff thread

thinking i might take my old car down to the gun show tomorrow, scince it's got a big secure trunk. i also figure if there's any idiots protesting, it would be better to take the car that's already been keyed to hell and back that i've got no money tied up in, lol.

Here is my new gun. It's a Mossberg maverick chambered in .270 with a barska 3.5-10x40. This was a cheap gun and something good to start on while getting into bolt actions/long range shooting. Once I got it sighted in you can see the group I had there. It was 2.5 MOA, I know that sucks but it still needs a little more tweaking on the scope and I need to shoot some better ammo. I only ran 20 rounds of Remington core-lock through it (this ammo is good for hunting but if your trying to get a one hole group this is not the ammo for that job. But once I get good on this rifle I am going to move up to a Remington 700.

^ i like that setup. what kinda money did it set you back?

Bipod $40 on amazon
$250 for the gun
Scope was free already had it.

When I was sighting it in I forgot to change the zoom so that grouping is at a 3.5 of I would have gone to the 10 the group would have been a lot closer. If I were you the Mossberg atr 100 is a hell of a gun for $400 if you can afford it

^ not bad on the price for what you've got. i like it 'caus i'm just getting into "bigger" rifles (only have a couple .22's right now) and it looks like a fairly simple setup to get familiar with before i move onto something nicer.

I'll just leave this here....

Ruger 10/22 Takedown. Stripped it and added a modified Tapco stock so the gun still seperates

This past Christmas I bought my son an airsoft AK47. It's all metal, gears and all and I didn't realize the power it has. We stood up some lattice, stapled a target to it, full auto shredded everything!! Even though its lattice, I never thought plastic BB's could do this!

Everything is coming back down in price now. A lot of shops are selling them for below what AR's were before the **** storm because they have such an over stock of them now.

But, good luck finding the 300 black out ammo. I heard its a good round though.

saw on the news yesterday kahr firearms is looking to move into the pike county business park. actually they're looking to buy the entire park, so they can escape NY's anti-gun attitude and BS. just thought that was kinda neat :)

yeah a lot of the firearm companies that were up in new York are fleeing as fast as they can. Berretta warned them and were the first to make good on their promise I have not heard where they relocated to but they packed up and moved as fast as possible.

Magpul is relocating from Colorado as well, potentially one of the Carolina's offered them property tax free or something like that, not sure if North or South

It'd be cool to have Magpul and Palmetto in the same state. I imagine a special PMAG shall be introduced when the move is official. But today they posted a little something something about Dallas-Fort Worth. Foreshadowing maybe?

Maybe. I had heard that the Governor of (I think) it was South Carolina, was throwing all sorts of incentives at them to get them to move there
