Yes... filled er up for the first time yesterday. 15 gallon at around 150 miles... 9.5 mpg. Hell yea!
But thats also me tryin out the 460 lol
Lol I am guessing you'll get 11-12 MPG?
The guy that owned it before me said he was pullin 11. Not too bad for like 450 ft lbs lol
damn that a sh*t ton of torque reminds of the old 8L that some Dodge Rams had (the movie Twister confirmed it has an 8L)
Whats the gearing in your diff? Is it a 3spd or 4 spd?
Its actually a 5 speed (C6+OD). And I got depressing news when I learned it has an open diff... 3.55 gears... Heck my Ranger had a better rear end than this one! Lol
I hope a gear swap is in the plans eventually
And I lied. Just looked up the specs. 400 ft lbs lol.
And yes. Id like to swap in some (at least) 3.73s if not 4.10s; limited slip of course. It cant possibly hurt my mileage lol.
Lo i dont think it would have much impact on MPG at this point.
Lol prolly not. My gpa tells stories of an old Chevy he used to have wayyy back in the day. Chevy 3/4 ton, 454 w/ a Posi. He says itd get 8 or 9 mpg whether goin down the highway or with a load of wood in the back
first mod on your truck?
Actually I just got cab lights from Clinton today lol. I know what Im doin tomorrow!
Im gonna look up that guy that does the custom decals on here and see if he can do one that looks like the old style "7.3L Powerstroke" sticker that went under the emblem and get one that says "7.5L Gasaholic" lol
or maybe a sticker that says= 7.5L or 7.5 MPG?
HAHAHHA!!! I like it! I wish it was a 9.5L then itd be true
you'll prob get 7.5MPG in the winter so it wont be a total lie
Lol especially if it snows and I have to be in 4wd constantly. Thats somethin to look forward to lol
lol especially if you put weight in the back for more traction
i thought it would have an E4OD for the trans? eather way it should be a 4 speed, C6 is a heavy duty 3 speed +OD.
my buddie's 460 has 4:10's in it and it's got a ton of low end power, but it screams on the highway. you're probibly best off with the 3:55's, not like that engine dosin't have the low end power to move it along even with taller tires.
That would be a 4 speed. The E4OD was the C6 with electonic components to make it a 4 speed.
No american auto maker had an automatic 5 speed until FORD put one in the ranger in 97
