damn that a sh*t ton of torque reminds of the old 8L that some Dodge Rams had (the movie Twister confirmed it has an 8L)

Whats the gearing in your diff? Is it a 3spd or 4 spd?

Its actually a 5 speed (C6+OD). And I got depressing news when I learned it has an open diff... 3.55 gears... Heck my Ranger had a better rear end than this one! Lol

And I lied. Just looked up the specs. 400 ft lbs lol.

And yes. Id like to swap in some (at least) 3.73s if not 4.10s; limited slip of course. It cant possibly hurt my mileage lol.

Lol prolly not. My gpa tells stories of an old Chevy he used to have wayyy back in the day. Chevy 3/4 ton, 454 w/ a Posi. He says itd get 8 or 9 mpg whether goin down the highway or with a load of wood in the back

i thought it would have an E4OD for the trans? eather way it should be a 4 speed, C6 is a heavy duty 3 speed +OD.

my buddie's 460 has 4:10's in it and it's got a ton of low end power, but it screams on the highway. you're probibly best off with the 3:55's, not like that engine dosin't have the low end power to move it along even with taller tires.

That would be a 4 speed. The E4OD was the C6 with electonic components to make it a 4 speed.

No american auto maker had an automatic 5 speed until FORD put one in the ranger in 97
