mustang dome mod, does anyone have pictures?

I'm new to modding my ranger, got it roughly 6 months ago. I, like everyone, want to start mods. Starting with the interior, does anyone have pictures of the famous mustang dome conversion? And maybe a how-to? I have simple green lights in my dome atm.

heres mine. it is really simple to install. what year truck do you have? if you have an 04 and up then you have to add an extra wire. but if you have 03- then you just unscrew your old dome and screw in your old one.
 
Ive got an 01 xlt. So why does everyone do this particular mod? I've been debating this one, I think ill go ahead and do it cause I broke my dome, like many others lol. What build do they use, cause I have green bulbs.
 
by adding a mustang dome light you get a much better looking domelight and you get two functional map lights. the dome should come with bulbs or i highly recommend getting leds from buggman i have them and its like its daylight in my cab.
 
im not sure send him a pm. but i recommend it. i did my whole dash and mustang dome and i love them completely changed the look of my interior.
 
make sure you research how to re-calibrate the needles if you take them off. if you want to change the color of your display you will have to take off the needles and gain access to the filter paper. where you will need to sand off the color filtering. then any color led you chose will shine through. or you can just replace the factory bulbs with leds. this is what i did. it made my dash color go from teal to bright blue.
 
I highly recommend the Stang dome light mod, I have one, painted red and it really sets of the truck, makes it brighter too when all the lights are on.

Yours should be a direct swap. Just unscrew your old one, then screw in the stang light and your done.
 
I gotta go get my bolts from my buddy! So i can put my newish headliner in. Finally got around to reseallong my rear window. Now i need bolts to my ohc my dome light and ill be set to put my stuff back in

I finally got around to installing my 'stang dome & I really like it.
The stock bulbs aren't anything to write home about, but my led plug-ins really make the domes come to life :thumbsup:
 
I went to the local scrap yard today to find a Stang dome. However I ended up leaving with a nice Phoenix gold 4ga wiring kit, it has an in-line circuit breaker, not a fuse. 3 sets of monster rcas (purple) and a small P.A Horn that I got for free. I couldn't pass up on the wire kit. And as far as the cluster is concerned, ill just swap with leds
 
If you need one I can usually grab them. I may even part with the silver one in my truck, so just let me know if you would like that one.
 
Thanks. But grabbing one really wont be difficult. And if I can't find one at the scrap yard, I know a gentleman who had more mustang parts than a ford warehouse. I used to work for him, he owns a small mechanical shop here local. But thanks for the offer Hooligan. And by the way, the hammered grey looks amazing
 
Quick Question to all… will a Stang Interior Light fit a Standard Cab ?
Not that it is needed in the smaller cab but has anyone ever put one in a Std Cab ?
 
There will be a little space on the passenger side between the headliner and the light. But you can't really notice it unless you look for it.
