I'm looking for some info on the dana 35 with the dana 28 guts in it. I can't find the bearing and seal kit for it, and ford says that there is no such thing. Does anyone know what I am talkin about or do i have the only one of them?

What truck do you have? Year, trim level, etc.

ah, yes. the 93-97 4 banger rangers used a d35 TTB housing, with d28 innards.

so you aren't the only one with it, and you aren't imagining things lol. as for the dealer not being able to find parts, Can't really help ya out there. I'll do some digging and see what I can come up with.

I would personally just junk that third member. Grab a D35 chunk (I have an extra one if you need it) and rebuild that. There's no sense in messing with that oddball.

I would just junk the third member but if I do that I'll have to change out the whole thing. The recess in the (cover) isn't big enough for the 8.8 ring gear and the axle shafts are not the same. Then I'll have to swap out the rear end to make it right. I priced the front out of an explorer, D35, 8.8 ring gear. The cheapest I have found around here is $800 and $300 for the rear. I ask why the front was so much. They said it was because I am buying everything, third member, axles, the independent front suspension, ring and pinion, springs, everything. There's gotta be a better way!!!!

Well, I have a complete front AND rear end minus a driverside beam (I do have the knuckle though). I'd sell everything I had to you for $500 BUT you're in Illinois..
