Horns

I've been looking at getting some train horns to put on my truck. I know some of you have them, but what are the best brands to get?

Please post pics, specs, etc. if you have them. This is something I am interested in doing in the near future. I would also like to see how people have theirs set up in their trucks. Thanks in advance for replies.

I have been looking too. I have researched alot and with the help of Black mamba, found good ones.....BUT....they are about 600.00 for the set. The set is awesome (I cant remember the name) but they will rattle your guts from a mile away. Others that are sold on ebay sound like crap so look on ebay, listen to the sound clips and compare them.

Does he have the $600 one? I'm not trying to put that much into it. I just want something really loud that doesn't sound like it's coming from a prius...

Yeah he does. The other "cheaper" ones have a high pitch to them and from a distance you may be mistaken for a midget train. Check the soundclips, but remember, they will sound a little different in person

That's what I'm looking for then, I want the sound of the $600 dollar one without the price tag. I'm sure there's one out there, just have to find it.

My buddy with the Durango has a set. Not sure what brand they are... But they're pretty loud. Especially when your head is under the hood below them... Clinton, the four wheel jambo in bloomsburg has sets that are ridiculous for around $300 total for everything

Thanks Mamba. That helps a lot. Do you think next time you get a change you could take a picture of your set up. Like where you put your horns, tank, etc.

No problem , I put the horns where my spare use to be (on my roof now) and the tank and compressor in the bed ( I have a cap lol)

Have you ever seen anyone use their tool box in the bed as the holding area for the tank? My plan is to have it bolted in there with a hole drilled out of the bottom with the lines running to the horns.

i have, but for a different purpose.

and anyone looking for a laugh, hit up hornblasters.com and watch their videos. makes me crack up

That would be a good spot for it because it would be out of the elements, but you have to be careful that nothing punctures the tank and you'd have to put something on the edges of the hole you cut so it doesn't hurt the wires.
