Ultra gauge has an update , if you are like me and have the original UG you can send yours in and for 11 bucks they will send you back the upgraded version, But I just heard that some time this summer a tranny temp feature should be in place, so I am going to wait till then.
here is a link to the ultra gauge forum

I am not sure, I sold Clinton my transmission repair manual, maybe he can look up and see if there is one built in with the valve body solenoids. but I do remember as a young kid we added trany sensors right into the pan, drilled a hole and mounted a sensor and ran the wires to a gauge, aftermarket tranny temp sensor from the local auto parts store back then.

the 2011 ranger I was told has a tranny temp sensor when hooked up to a scangauge it can read the temp . So maybe when ultra gauge comes out with the temp update it will work on older rangers as well I think the sensor is in with the solenoids around the valve body.

I did see this today

how do you guys like your ultra gauge? it just plugs into the port in the panel under the steering wheel correct? how is the windshield mount? i might make a mounting system to where its somewhere on my dash.

i love it. i've had the suction cup fall off once or twice on hot days, but other than that no problems with it. easy to set up, navigate, and the screen is big enough to read easily at a glance while not being mega bright at night.

mine is mounted above my center rear view mirror

I like it, but I would like it better if the menu buttons, well all buttons were on the side or the front , instead of the back of the unit asI would like to mount in the dash but I use thewindsheild mount and no troubles.

Why can’t you add a sensor, especially to a manual Trans ?

I am not sure, is there an extra pipe plug fitting on the side of the 5 sp ?
If so then a sensor is easy.

here it is, well for those who dont pay attention i know the selector is in the way in the pictures and thats because its in park, when in drive its completely outa the way,

@other posts after mine 'cause I forgot to quote: that's why I kinda LOL'd. I don't think there are trans temp sensors in these trucks. So the addition of having that gauge is useless. They're pretty much only on the larger trucks(IE 250, 350, etc)

I find your lacking of a radio install kit disturbing.

Since you've drilled a hole in your radio bezel, why not pop it off, shave a notch so the wire can pass through behind the dash. And not look all haggered like?

well you see i had the kit for it, and well it broke, so i stopped caring and just have it resting it there, and im working on hiding it
