lol probs.
Yeah. Just watch out.... The thermostat housing likes to blow out at around 135k lol But you got two and a half years yet lol
Do a write up clinton, for sureIt isnt too hard, you have to pop the interior door panel off by lifting up and pulling out. The seat belt mechanism is pretty much a bolt in anchor. They should be easy to swap out, I will be taking apart some back doors I have soon, so if you can wait a little bit, I will do a tutorial for you and the site with pics. For right now put the adjuster at its highest position, pull the belt out til it stops and allow it to retract slow and let it have an even feed. That may help you out a little until I get the instructions written up
I know, I know, but the dealer...man...just makes everything worse. And I was a good customer, too.
Thanks for letting me gripe/whine/whatever.
Just because the dealer is out to get you doesn't mean we are. lol We'll keep that truck running till the end of the world (or December 21st). Just stick with it and you'll learn all you need to
We'll teach you lol And yes it is, according to the Mayans. Haha. DC isn't too far away. If you ever need help with something, just ask and maybe a couple guys could even come down and helpThanks very much. I'm in the area of DC.
I think I'm a pretty well-informed consumer, but these guys just stay on point, like politicians, and don't even acknowledge you. Whenever I have a question, I go online and research, ask my dad and uncles, and can usually find out what I need to. I don't understand much of what I read here, but if it's interesting, I look at the pictures and try to follow the conversations.
The world is ending on Dec. 21st? Damn. I just got new tires, too.
Update:
My truck went in to the dealer this week for its 5000 mile service. A new seatbelt cost me $400, which I am told is a significant 'discount' on the part and the labor. ("The part is very expensive.")
After going back and forth, over and over with not only the service manager but the General Manager as well, they refused to foot the bill for this repair. I told them I had been a faithful customer for nine years. Was it worth $400 for my continued loyalty to not only their business, but to Ford vehicles?
The General Manager said that when the tech removed the door panel to replace the seatbelt it was 'very dirty', whatever that means. He also insinuated that since I take it to the horse farm every day, that's probably the reason it's dirty, and if I continue to drive the truck there, a seatbelt failure will probably happen again.
?!?!?! Does this guy think I live under a rock?
I don't know if this man really believed what he was saying or if he really expected me to believe it. Completely insulting.
I told him, "I am done with your dealership and I am done with Fords in general."
I respect the people on this forum. I have been looking around and I am amazed at what can be done with this vehicle. I had to get the belt replaced - it had lost all tension. I wish I had your wherewithall and expertise to have changed the belt myself. Unfortunately, my abilities don't include in car repair, customizing or rebuilding.
I really like my truck. I want to drive it until she can't get down the driveway anymore. But I can't in good conscience ever buy another Ford. They made more money than God last year, and they weren't willing to help out a loyal customer. Discount..I'm sure.
Anyway, sad ending.
Thanks to all the people who replied to my original post.
