so i was talking to a fellow mechanic and he mentioned that if i switch out the throttle body to a 3.8l throttle body, put a explorer air filter housing with a bigger hose, and a k&n filter i can gain about 20-25 horsepower. i have a 04 3.0 v6. i had a couple of questions such as, has anyone tried this? what year cars have throttle bodies that can just bolt on? and will it actually increase horsepower a decent amount. any help or input is appreciated.

As long as you increase the exhaust flow too !
Increase the intake flow and you need to increase the exhaust flow to realize the increase.
You will probably get some increase but not all you think you will unless you equal things out.

I would think the computer would come into the picture also, not sure.
There are plenty of guys on here that could probably answer that question.
