Hey guys, this is my first post. just wondering if yall think this guys a scam. hes selling his ranger for 2390 and the blue book is around 6-7k. This is the email he sent me back after i messaged him on craigslist.

Hello,

This is Calvin ,i received your e-mail about my black 2001 Ford Ranger.First of all, thank you for your interest. I am selling it because I will soon go on a second tour in Afghanistan and I don't want it getting old in my garage. I will be gone for the next 12 months. The price is low because I need to sell it before we deploy, on 5th of December. The truck is in great condition and runs great. It only has 107,725 highway miles on it. It has never been wrecked and never smoked in. I had serviced it only at the local dealer. Maintenance records are available. Clear title in hand. You can see more pictures of the truck here:

If you decide to buy it I will be paying for the shipping charges. The total price is $2,390.00 with no other hidden taxes. Please email me back if you are interested in buying it.

If youll notice in the pictures, the tags are painted over with photoshop or something. And he also says he'll pay shipping. idk if he doesnt know i live near him or what. but i will not buy the car without looking at it and test driving it. Seems a little sketchy to sell a car for 1/3rd its value, because you dont want it sitting in your garage for a year.

If he wanted it gone fast he would drive it to a used car lot and get more than 3000 for it.

it looks to me from the email that he deals in alot of **** and forgot to take out shiping maybe i dont know. and the fact that he will be gone for a year dont add up eather in my book

scam, I had something similar happen when I was looking at an escape before I got the ranger.

I'll have to find the email and pics to show you how similar they are

The shipping part is the scam. If you really want, ask him to go take a look at it, or the vin better yet. Then have someone run it (CLINTON a.k.a. Hooligan) in the police database and see if it's stolen lol.

pretty sure its a scam

compare the email that I got with the OP's email

I see what you mean, but my dad was one of the lucky ones who didn't get scammed by something like that. So that's why I'm saying that. Not all of em are scams, but unfortunately a lot are.

I found a car on Craigslist that someone wanted to sell me stupid cheap and they provided a vin number which I googled and found that car in another state at a dealer for over 40***. Ask em for a vin and google it
