Here is the thing, changing spark plugs on my 4.0L SOHC is really not fun to begin with but how do you know that your getting the best plugs for the time spent. Champion, Autolites, E3, ...... and so many other brands. With platinum, double platinum, copper cores, .....and so many models. Which one is really the best. It seems to me that a spark is a spark. What are your thoughts.

Well I just replaced my spark plugs and wires today actually....I went with NGK G-power Plugs and NGK wires to match, and it seems to have put a lil bit of pep back into my truck..so just an option

PS-good luck on the #6 plug...its a bitch to get to!

Avoid Bosch they tend to burn up quickly with Ford's hot ignitions. I use Autolite double platinums and in my opinion are the best spark plug for the money. I have read that a lot of people have went with stock Motorcraft platinums. Those are the original OEM's that came in the engine from the factory.

i put in the same plugs as you did but i did not get any wires, would it make much of a difference and roughly how much would wires cost?

Denso Iridium is the way I went in an 05 Subaru Impreza STi. The punishment that car puts on plugs didn't phase them a bit, our Fords couldn't possible do them damage!
