I've never owned a Ranger. I helped my son buy a '97 XLT, Ext cab, 2WD, A/T, and 4.0. We share using it but his name is on the title and I'm mainly his mechanic. He doesn't work on cars and he's busy with work and college. He drove a friend's older Ranger and really liked it, so he got one to replace his deceased Camry. I have owned Fords before. A '58 Ford, '60 Falcon, '66 Mustang, and an '86 Mustang GT. When I was about 12 yrs. old, my Dad let me drive his '53 1/2 ton around country roads. I'm an old timer. The '53 was only 8 years old when I drove it!
My son just got the Ranger a few days ago so we're still looking up info about it. I'm going to replace the carpet and install seat covers soon and he can't wait to take off the canopy and store it or sell it.
