I am not selling my truck, but i was curious how much a 2004 ford ranger edge 3.0 v6 is worth. it has no body damage, and has 103K miles. runs great. new door speakers, ipod hook up, and 5k hitch from ekhart. runs perfect, everything works, has some wear and tear but no performance issues. i went to carmax and they said it was worth 2.2k.

2.2k would be a trade in value on another vehicle. You can probably get about 6-8k on a private sale.
thats what i will try. i mean everything is fine except for some interior parts. besides that it runs perfect.
+1 Places like carmax give you a price to "shop around" around for trade in value for your car. Which I still think that is still a little low for trade in value. But that would ensure them a nice 2500-4000 profit after service, detail, and any mantainence. I agree is with the $6-8k price range for your truck being an 04 with a little over 100k miles.
It wont effect the price at all. From my experience with DSM's Eclipse, Talon etc. You can have 8k into the car but will only be worth book. Maybe slightly more, but nowhere close to what you put into it. My dad always said something is only worth as much as someone wants to pay.
as long as it doesnt take the price down. some stuff i want to do is only to replace something that isnt working or isnt working right
The only way the price could come down is if you give it to a dealer. They'll lop a ton off because it's too custom to the way you liked it, not the way someone else might want it. Especially if it's lifted, lowered or otherwise. Those things are expensive to reverse.
well i was thinking that once im done with the body work ill post it up here and see if anyone is interested since people here will have more respect for it then a dealer.
If the mods you do are permanent, you decrease the value of the vehicle. If they are things that are removable, you are fine. It all depends on the dealer. For example if you add a spray in bed liner, most people would say that should raise the value of your truck, but since it's permanent and that next buyer may not want it, the price goes down.
ok well im going to add the 06+ mirrors and the explorer center console mod to mine. my center console is broken anyways
That shouldn't make the value drop at all. Could probably get a couple hundred more for it with that.
