Power Windows???

Looks like I need to replace the Driver side power window regulator on my 95 Ranger. When I try to raise the window, all I hear is a popping noise.
My question, should I replace the regulator with a new motor or could I try to reuse the existing motor and just purchase a power regulator without a motor?

make sure it's not the switch, and make sure the window is on the track before you look into buying a new motor!
