Mossy oak interior and side panel reinstall.

i found some mossy oak carpet at wal mart and redid me head liner and little side panels.

i used two different ways to put my side panels on. on one side i glued them on with plastic weld.

I just put a bunch of glue in the spots were i broke the plastic rivets off.

Then the other way i figured out after i glued the first one on. kinda wish i thought about it before i glued. i drilled little holes through the 3 plastic things in the middle and stuck a cotter pin through them.

The cotter pin method turned out just as sturdy as the glue. it doesnt wobble at all. Its also not permanent. so if you ever decide you want to change the patter again it will be easy.
 
Im doing that with mine. Great Idea! I reupholstered them and I dont like it...they're loose with the glue I used. Wasnt happy

i only use weldwood contact cement. it's designed for gluing vinyl tops on. we do all our headliners, door panels, carpets, dashes, etc with it. only downfall for most people is it really needs to be sprayed with a paint gun/compressor.

Thanks! my headliner is saggin in a few spots, figured id rip the old fabric off and try to re-upholster, in my experience that doesnt work too well, but ill try your stuff and see how it goes

Is that the felt type material that they sell at walmart? I was wanting to do mine but they are selling a felt type at walmart in the automotive secton and what u used looks like a smoother material. And how so u get yours to strecth across the whole panel they do not give u a whole lot of material to work with and i have a crew cab truck and tips?
 
I used some camo material you can get at Jo Anns or other fabric store. Its prolly smoother and easier to work with
 
Iv wrapped almost my whole interior in camo. Only things i haven't done yet are what you did. headliner and door panel inserts.

How would u recommend doing a crew cab since the roof is. Much larger I'm not sure if overlapping is going to look good?
 
I got mine from Jo Anns and its fine. Mines extended cab and its hard to get the valleys. It wants to bunch up. You learn to live with it lol
 
Looks good, I always wished I could have done that and done the same pattern for the center grey portion of the stock seats.

Would look great if your into that kind of thing.

professional verses diy'er. i do upholstery for a living. anything from little seat repairs to one off customs. a good quality material will last longer, be easier to work with, and be the right stuff for the job. nothing worse than taking the time to do something, just to have to redo it because the glue let go, or it wouldn't stretch enough to get the wrinkles out.
