Lift Options for your Ranger

Wasnt sure really where to put this since we dont have a dedicated lifted area.


If there is something I missed just toss it in here and I will had it. I hope this helps out some people I don’t have much to do over here right now since the days are almost over and thought I would put this together.

Ways to lift your Ranger-
Pre 97- 4x4
Cheap lift
Front- Easy and cheap F-150 coil springs good for about 3.75 (Note (Jrod-13) from TRS With 3 degree camber bushings, it may be possible to get within factory specs. Depending on your applications, it may also be impossible to align without the axle beam drop brackets.)
Rear-AAL (Add A Leaf) can be found at multiple sites online
Lift block- can be found at multiple websites in lift sizes of 1-4in
Body lifts- Again available from Summit racing and Performance Accessories
Lift Shackles- the Chevy lowering Shackles can be used for 1-2in of lift
Suspension Lift kits-
4-6in lifts kit from Skyjacker
1.5-5.5 in lift kits from Superlift
4in lift kits from Tuff Country
4in lift kit from Rough Country
Leveling Kit- Daysta PN-KF09108BK

High End kits-
The following make lift kits also for a bit more money-
Camburg, Solo Motor Sports Autofab
98 and up 4x4( Edge and newer Sports)
Cheap lift-
Front- Crank the t-bars or a body lift can be found at Summit or Performance Accessories
Rear-
AAL, or Lift block
Lift Shackles- the Chevy lowering Shackles can be used for 1-2in of lift

Doetsh Spindles 3in lift- (EDGE) PN 589830

SAS-
For SASing a truck there are a lot of ways to go about this-
1. Coil overs
2. Leaf spings
3. Coils
There are a lot of threads on this website and many others, it is up to you to decide the axle and what you want to use within your budget. For the front axle you can use a Dana 44 (waggy), or a Dana 35 from a jeep to stay small. You can also go fullsize Dana 44, or 60 remember if you go fullsize in the front you need to do the same with the rear or you will look weird.

Also in the rear if you are spring under (spsing is under the axle) you can move it to the top in order to add rear lift you can also use the Expo springs.

Here is a few options for the 2wd Ranger
Front- Fabtech- 3in Spindle lift (PN- FABKIT279-10.25 rotors, PN- FABKIT280)
Fabtech- 2.5 lift (coils and upper arms)
Fabtech- Combine the 2 lifts above for a 5.5in lift
Spring tech offers spindle kits and every ranging from 3in-5in (includes Edge and Sports Models)

Hey thanks for the link to the 4-link calculator. I'm trying to get a 78 bronco axle for my truck and i want to do a 4-link with coils or coil overs and this will help a lot
 
Urban- if I was you I would use the expo 8.8 if you use the full size Bronco rear its going to be wide unless you get it chopped.

I was going to use the front axle out of the '78. As far as I was aware and from what the local 4x4 shop told me it is already narrowed because of how stout the bronco was and the diff is on the proper side for my t-case. But I will look into it more just to be sure. I know the 8.8 is good and I just had it rebuilt so I'm not getting rid of that any time soon.
 
yeah unless someone narrowed them both front and rear then they are going to be wide for your truck its the right one they are correct about that.
 
I thought F150 Coils only lifted the front 2-2.5 inches? Most people use them to level the front of thier ranger out....which is usually 2-2.5 inches

From some of the guys that I talked to on TRS they had diff results depending on the spring from the jy that they got. Some had it level the truck some had it to where it was nose high.
