Hey guy's, question from the new guy. Just picked up the 94 in my sig on sunday, and the drivers side rear leaf spring mount is GONE. the back of the spring is hitting the bed. I searched and couldn't find anything, so my question is will this be a difficult fix? It really seems straight forward but I'm looking for some tips from anyone whose came across this before. Thanks in advance.

Pretty common issue with trucks in the rust belt. It's not too hard of a fix to do and not too expensive if you've already got access to a jack, stands, socket set, a grinder and a hammer w/ a punch. And it helps being mechanically inclined.

Get truck up in the air, tires off, frame on stands, jack under axle to manipulate preload. It's not a bad idea to remove the bed for LOTS of work room. Remove bolts from spring and shackle, remove hanger bolts, grind away rivet heads, beat rivet out of frame. Clean surface, paint if need be, bolt-on new hangers, reassemble, done!

Sometimes new shackles are required. If you're doing one side, you might as well do the other 'cause it's not far behind failing. Also, inspect your cab mounts off the frame. Those are also rusty problem areas.

I can't quickly find a supplier for the cab mount perches.

Logan, did the mount itself rust apart or did it break off the rusted frame?

If the mount itself broke & the frames ok, the easiest thing I've found to remove the rivets is to drill a hole in the center of it in stages til you finally drill a 3/8" hole through it, then take a good drift, knock the head off, and then knock the rivet out. Then hit the frame with some of that rust converter stuff, and put replacement mount on with grade 8 bolts.

Yeah the mount it's self broke. I just ground the heads off the rivets and knocked them out with a punch. Everything got replaced with grade 8 hardware. I thought about Welding it on, but decided to keep it simple incase I have to replace it again.
