How hard would it be to put 4x4 in my 2wd truck? I may be able to get all of the parts for the swap out of a 99 explorer? Really don't have the cash to go and buy a 4x4 will probably end up with the explorer for parts.

You have a-arms dont you?...Easiest way is to buy another truck personally. You're looking at a LOT of fab work to swap that front axle into the truck.
The A-arms differ from 4x4 to 2x4 which means all new mounts would have to be welded to the frame. PLUS the mounts for the axle. PLUS a new transmission/transfer case. PLUS wiring the transfer case. PLUS a stronger rear axle (8.8 swap). I couldnt justify it, personally...I would just sell and buy another one...you can find really decent deals on CL for under $5000 and it would already be 4x4 with a 4.0L
