gas leaking

Hello, i just joined today. I just bought a 92 ranger from my wife's grandma, it has only 75,000 miles on it, and the last few years only drove it 3 times a year to haul leaves and limbs to the country. I started it up and it was leaking and spraying gas from the top of the tank. Is this just a corroded line or somthing from sitting so long, or something else? Are these lines pressurized? Is it hard to take the bed off? Also the gas guage does not work. It wasn't leaking until it was started. thanks

I agree about the pump. The bed is fairly easy to remove. Disconnect taillight wiring (under the bed at drivers side rear), remove six bolts holding the bed on, and remove the fuel cap and three screws attaching filler neck to the bed. Be prepared to change the fuel filler pipe at the same time. On older models they tend to develop cracks at the tank end of the hose.
