Just bought my 2000 Ranger so went to have fuel filter changed and found that the fuel line was broken where it connects to the filter. Can I have it repaired with a kit or does the line need to be replaced? Is this hard to do? Any special tools required? It is V6 with 3.0. Thanks.

Is it the line before or after the filter? The line before the filter is a PITA to change as it goes right to the fuel tank, which needs dropped. The line after the filter is a little easier to get to as it goes to the engine. Either way, it does need replaced. There is no repair kit as the line has those quick connect fittings on it.

  4. if the quick connect end is good why not put a piece of metal fuel line in there but you have to use a double flare tool cause fuel lines have double flares at a connection
