Do not touch the trim!
I have One pair of Silverstar 3156 bulbs & One pair of Silverstar 3157 bulbs.
They're NOT on the original Silverstar bases, I had to use them a while ago for some led mods, but I just re-installed these on some generic bulb bases.
I've tested all 4 and they all work just fine.
These are the blue tinted Silverstar bulbs.
Not sure how much they are new, but I'd like to get $15.00 for all 4 of these shipped FREE in the USA.

I don't know exactly how old they are, but they're sure bright. I cleaned all the bulbs up & I don't see any damage to any of the blue coating on any of them.
I didn't have time to get any pics, but this is what they look like:
