Feeler: Anyone Lookin For A 2011?

El Camino Man

Thank The Lord For BBFs!
Hey guys... Iv been debating selling my Ranger for awhile now and if I can get the right price for it, its gone! Its definitly been a nice truck to me but I can barely afford it and its causing me headaches! (with the OHC thing). On to the details!

You can see some pics in my garage. Its an absolutely beautiful shade of blue! Vista blue metallic to be exact! She shines with the brillaince of a diamond! The grill is chrome and makes this truck stand out! The body does have a few spots on it that I have no clue where they came from? I can show you every dent and scratch in this truck (but theyre are few). The 4x4 has only been used a few times and works great. It has custom decals. The 4x4 is "rebel flag" as is the mudflap girls on the back glass. The inside of the bed is the worst part because I used this truck like a truck! Its got a lot of scratches but no substantial dents. A good rhinoliner would do this truck wonders! A few weeks ago I did install some cab lights. They look fine, i lightly scrtached the hood in one spot from the drill. She comes with the stockers: 16 inch Y-spokes.

Interior: I am in the middle of putting in an OHC so its kinda in pieces right now but EVERY piece of interior is there! Even the cut-out piece for the console. The interior looks fine, the seats do have some light stains. The floor is spot-less and comes with the original factory floormats that says RANGER. Single disc CD with MP3 and Sirius.

Drivetrain is in excellent condition. Truck has less than 10,000 miles right now, but I do drive it everyday til the El Camino is fixed. 4.0L 6 cylinder cranks out 207 horses and 235 ft lbs of torque. Shes quick off the line! Auto tranny, shift-on-the-fly 4x4, 3.73 gears w/ LS. She WILL burn both tires everytime! Very torqy (if thats a word). Iv had a 2300 tractor on the back and it pulled it just fine. Iv changed the oil once (owners manual says every 7500 miles) and since the intervals are so long, I put some good stuff in it. Mobil 1 Full Synthetic! Keep puttin this stuff in there and shell run forever! The engine, tranny, and rear end are all stock. Ill even include the window sticker

Books at $26,675, Id like to get $23,000 for it. Thats an excellent deal! If anyones interested, let me know.

Vehicles lose their value immediately after they leave the showroom bro. You can probably get about 20k out of it tops, but I would say to leave it where it's at now and negotiate down.

But mine books for $26000. Thats after 10,000 miles. But Ill prolly end up keeping it anyways unless someone really wants it lol

How about this: Does someone wanna trade me Rangers? (No, not straight up lol). I love my Ranger but I want a house more. Anyone interested?

This +1. New vehicles depreciate anywhere from 25-29% of their value once driven off the lot. Doesn't matter about miles, options, etc. You will not get anywhere near what you paid for it.

What did you use to "book" value your vehicle? If it was KBB, they are always really high and you probably used the best option "excellent". (I would too). You're vehicle, nice as it is, is not in excellent condition. Only 8% of all pre-owned vehicles nationwide are considered in "excellent" condition.

Also, everything that you have added to the vehicle that is permanent also depreciates the value of your vehicle. So the OHC and cab lights didn't help.

I am not trying to hurt your sale here man, I am just trying to make sure you understand the vehicle market. You started out at a solid price, but if someone offered me $19k-20k I would drop it in a heartbeat if I was wanting to get rid of it that bad. But if new Rangers with similar options are selling around $20k right now, you'll be hard pressed to sell it for any more than that. I did a quick search on autotrader.com and found many pre-owned 2011 Rangers going around for what you are looking getting, usually private party is higher than retail, but if dealerships are selling theirs for $21k-$23k, it means they only paid anywhere from $16k-$19k to get them on their lot. That means you need to be looking to sell yours for $20k or less.

I hope it all works out for you so you can get your house, I just hope some of this information helps you. As I said, not trying to bash you or hurt your sale.

Good luck!

Im not trying to sell it. Im trying to trade it lol. If I cant get what I owe on it, then Im gonna keep it.

And you can see some pics in my garage

You could always trade it in, roll over your negative equity to a less expensive vehicle. This would lower your payments to something you are more comfortable with. That way, you get out of the truck you are in, into another truck/car that may even be worth less than what yours is worth, and you would end up only paying off the negative equity (left over). Seen it happen. Good luck man.

Yea but that is bad for your credit... The rest is what Im wanting to do though lol. I think I want a Mercury Marauder

It doesn't hurt your credit. As long as you make your payments on time and never miss one you will not have a problem with credit. I'm not sure who told you that lol.

I was told if you dont make 13 payments and if you go upside-down (dont get what its worth) then its bad for credit? Im 20, I honestly have no idea lol

No worries man. I'm only 22, but I've been working at a car dealership for the past 3 years and have seen almost every scenario out there with credit. Going upside isn't necissarily good for your credit, but as long as you make your payments on time and never miss one you'll be fine. In order keep your credit score high, you always have to have a balance somewhere like on a credit card/vehicle loan/etc. and are constantly paying it off. My dad is in the top 10% for credit (above an 830 score). He has had neg equity on every vehicle he has ever bought except the last one. So in this instance, rolling over into another loan doesn't hurt your credit because your still paying the amount.

Wow?! 830?! Thats insane! I think my gma has something like that lol.

Anyways, thats some good info though. Iv been told a few times no matter how much money you have as a down payment, its your credit score that makes you look rich lol

Yea, my dad has taken care of himself and his credit. In order to have that kind of credit, like I said, you always have to have some kind of debt and be constantly paying it off. Whether it be a credit card or a loan of some kind. People think it's better to not have any debt, but it's the only way to have that high of a credit score. Most people do not know this. I'm not saying you can't have a high score with no debt, it's just easier to get your score higher with debt.

So it's not necissarily being rich with high credit, it's more like being smart about your finances. But I understand what you mean.
