im thinking of ordering a set of buchwacker bed rail caps to cover up some of the scratches on my bed and prevent new ones. but i cant decide if i should go with the smooth option or the diamond plate design. i have a diamond plate tool box on right now.

which do you guys like better they are both the same price so that dosent matter.

im thinking ill polish up my tool box and then hopefully get my friend to paint it flat black for me and then get the diamond plate ones. you guys dont think it will look weird with my tail gate and the part near my cab being smooth?

^^ you will barely see the part at the cab(only if you actually look lol) and for the tailgate I believe you can get a cover like the bed rails..

I've got the Bushwacker "Diamondback" ones on mine and have had 'em since spring '07. Held up great. Had the tailgate stickies lift about two years ago. No big deal...new 3M tape and she's good. They offer great coverage and covered the marks from the old factory huge ass ugly "Edge" bedrail caps, my original intention of the rail caps. Also, going with molded plastic caps over aluminum caps gives you a much more accurate fit to the truck.

I love the caps. However, since having a canopy, I found the diamondback raised ones raised my canopy too high. I should have gotten the smooth caps. Don't get me wrong, the Diamondback ones are awesome! Just not so much with a canopy.

It wraps about 3" on the outside, over the top, and into the inside about an inch and a half or so. The bed rails themselves are fully covered on the inner lip as well. This is the same for all models of Bushwacker caps. PS: I love supporting local businesses.....Bushwacker is based about 45 minutes from my house.

Any of these work for ya? If not, it'll have to wait til this weekend...

I already had these in my photobucket.

thanks the second pic gives me what im looking for. i think ill keep my tailgate cap since it goes all the way the tailgate and protects the whole thing from dents.

i've got the bushwacker bedrail caps too, they are awsome! they cover all the scratches from my cap, and they've held up great so far. and beleive me i put 'em through their paces, lol.

Yeah, I've had some on my truck since probably 05 or earlier. No problems and still look good. I had to redo the 3M tape but no big deal. Just make sure you put have it in the right spot the first time because I had to redo mine because I had to pull it up after not lining it up right. Another person would make it real easy.

Drop-in bedliner? I suggest cutting your tailgate piece up so the Bushwacker tailgate cap can work with your existing protection. It'll make for a far cleaner and more complete set up when finished.
