This truck has been sitting up over a year. My dad has gifted it to me due to his age and health issues. We tried to crank it several times. We then pulled the intake hose off and sprayed starting fluid in and got it running 3-4 seconds then shut off. We would try again no luck, spray it again and it run a few seconds cut off. Then we removed the filter box and it was in bits and pieces. Hope that little bit of running didnt clog up the throttle body. We actually got it running for a bit then cut it off and said we just need to get a new filter. I came back the next week with a new filter and thought I was going to drive it 1 hour back home. I put the new filter in no crank so pulled the hose off and sprayed fluid in it cranked ran 3 secs cut off. Did that numerous times no luck running. Thought it might have been fuel pump but my dad said a guy unhooked the line running into the top of engine and fuel was coming out. He said the guy said there is fuel coming in but not going out to let the engine run. What you think???? Did that filter the rats got up in there crew up clog up something. Im ready to try any ideas you guys have. Under the truck seems to be a spot that needs to be covered or a screen on it so nothing can get up in there. My dad also has another ranger there for spare parts. Should I replace the throttle body or fuel box the hose hooks to where the filter was????? Crankshaft sensor ??? Then I read i should switch out fuse 11 and relay 47. Thanks guys just trying to get it running then im fix it up little by little since my dad gave it to me. Its 3.0 XLT ext cab. I did press the red button a few times the first time we had it running I didnt the last time, but dad did and still not run.
