hey fellow ranger fans —— question well several but I’ll take it one at a time.
I have a 2002 xlt, and so I ordered a nice aftermarket grill to install. Received it went to install and it’s way off, called the company sent them pics and turns out my grill is an edge model. But no where does the truck tell me it’s an edge model. What gives? Any help would be very much appreciated. Ok one more question, the belt diagram on the radiator housing shows I have a 3.0 but the cover on top states 4.0 and the vin has an E as the eight digit which I believe indicates a 4.0 as well. As you can tell I’m a nubie but I do love rangers mines a 2002 xlt 4x I’d like to cherry it out for Baja excursions. Anyway thanks for any help I’ll have plenty more questions in the future
 
They used to say "EDGE" in a graphic on the side of the bed. If the bed's been replaced and/or the truck's been repainted, it could be the graphic is gone.

...pic courtesy of Wikipedia. Identifies it as 2001-2005 Ford Ranger (fender badge looks like it reads "XLT", which would make sense given the fancy schmancy wheels and side brush guard/step).
 
Well mine is a 02’ XLT, but doesn’t have the nerf bars or fancy wheels. Mine also lacks all of that chromy bling. I also have the honey comb grille
 
Dean and Jamey, thx to both of you for your sleuthing, my front grill is like the pic with the yellow edge model, but it does have xlt on the body below the ranger badge. Perhaps the bed was changed, it’s definitely been painted as well, my step son has nick named it “ Frankenstein”, so I ordered a new header panel and will try to install tomorrow, we’ll see if it fits cause I ordered a 2002 ranger xlt model so I wonder if the edge model came with an xlt package as well? Anyway more to come than again guys very much appreciated.

...actually the yellow truck and the last truck both have a cleft down the middle of the hood.
