Clicking while accelerating

So I took the ranger out this weekend for some recreational wheeling when it happened a metal on metal click while accel. Increases with wheel speed untill around 20 and than goes away ( usually between 2-3rd gear) first thing I thought was u joints so I jumped under and Tryed to shake my shaft ( if ya know what I mean ) but it seamed solid , I think I'm going to change them anyway seeing as the last time they wer done was in the woods with a cinder block and some sockets lol but just wanted some input on this . Im really hoping its not in the trans/transfer case . But it sounds like its coming from the back .

sounds like you have a stone in your drum/caliper

does it only do it under power? might help narrow it down

well u went through all that water when sandy hit. there has to be something stuck somewhere grinding on a moving part. like cv shafts or brakes. maybe the caliper metal slider that helps the pads slide is grinding on ur wheel like mine did after i went offroading. i had to cut off the slider tab on the top of it.

Ya I will let you guys know what I find it does only happen under power though

Mine does the same thing, drove me nuts for a year trying to find it. Turns out my exhaust resonator is bad. Pieces broke apart inside, sounds like keys jingling. Pound on them with ur fist and see if u hear anything along with ur cat.
