I've been wanting a 4x4 and i drive a lot of miles, whether to go hunting or skiing so the MPGs would be nice.

I'm on a high school budget saving for college. Looking for advice on this one. What should i get it for so if i get in over my head i can break even? What do you think I'll end up in it by the end?

Any advice would be helpful before i go take a look. Thanks.

seems like an OK buy, the truck itself looks nasty but the 2.3 turbo diesel is a fairly sought after engine in a ranger, one of the few engines ford put in these trucks that's capable of getting over 30 MPG.

that being said, they are not a powerhouse like any fullsize diesel truck. it's also fairly tough and expensive to get parts for the engine, due to there not being many out there still running around.

i would say it's worth about what the seller is asking, but mostly for the engine & driveline. even with the new parts included that truck is very rusty and would be a big project to fix up. just something to think about...
