95 Ranger NEWB! truck leans?hm

hey all, imma a newb to the ranger and this site. found a 95 in really good shape but it leans to the driver's side causing a differance of a 1/2" or so. anyone else have this issueunsure:? if so, is there an available remedy?:rolleyes:
 
a common problem is the rear spring hangers tend to rot out and the springs push up. I haven't seen a 93-97 Ranger that didn't have rotted leaf spring hangers (unless they had already been changed).

ill check out my leaf spring hangers after work today. the truck hardly has any rust so i would be surprised if that was the problem...however i shall see :yes:. thanks for the input fellas
 
I checked the leaf spring retainers and they are still in good shape, they dont appear to have any bend to them. Any other ideas?
 
I don't know, grab a level to make sure that the ground that the truck is sitting on is actually level. Sometimes when I park at work, even though it looks level it isn't which causes my truck to look contorted.
 
I recently had the same problem, and western is right. My rear leaf spring shackles were rotted out and snapped clean off after i replaced the shocks.

They broke off and into my bed creating teh plastic covering to lift up about 3 inches or so.

my advice would to seriously check out the shackles and get them fixed asap, it cost me about $500 all said and done.
 
its the infamous Ranger lean. they all do that. one thing that causes it is the gas tank because it sits on the drivers side and adds quite a bit of weight when full which can cause that side to lean down lower after a bit of time because of the weight.
 
i think bagged splash is right .. i got a ranger with a 3/4 drop on it and the left rear sits a little lower than the right ... i never noticed it til i dropped it ... everything is in fine condition that i can see visually .. but you cant see when the shocks are bad .. you can only feel it
 
i could always post a pic of my truck aired all the way down to show u the difference in height on each side. im running monoleaf right now so it would show ya how much of a difference it is...
