Hello to all I need a little infor on my ranger. First for the last two or three weeks I;ve been hearing what sounds like grinding or rubbing sounds from underneath. It sounds like a bearing. Not sure where it's coming from took it to the dealer of course it doesn't do it when they drive it I told them it was very intermittent the 4 wheel doesn't appear to lock in right away. The tech said he put it up on the lift and he finally heard the noise he felt it was the bearing in the rear differential but then took apart and found it to be ok still not knowing what it could be they checked the trasfer case oil he said it was black in color instead of red its under warranty but he said before they get into the tranfer case he needs to know for a fact where the noise is coming from they could't duplicate the noise any thoughts why the oils black? Or what it could be would be appreciated thanks
