I was jump starting my riding mower ranger was idling with cabkes hooked up got done shut hood started to pull away when i put my foot on gas pedal it started dying out like it was starving for fuel , then it died i turned it over ir wouldnt start i let it sit for a bit finally got it to start went back approx. 3 city blocks shut it off went into store came out it would turn over act like it was going to start then it finally started but kept idiling rough like it was starving for fuel went a couple feet it died & wouldnt start took shot starting fluid in intake it would start for a second then die, so i replaced fuel pump & it still wont start im clueless now , any suggestions

First you should never jump start anything with the Motor running ,can burn out altimeter if hiked up backwards ,sounds like a fuel problem .there is a nut looking item that can be taken off and a pressure gage put on the fuel linen. If pressure is not constant you have a fuel problem . Other could be lose or burnt wire from coil to distributor cap .
