I am stationed in Germany and just picked up a 1988 Ranger 2.9L and when I was on the drive home I believe I noticed the thermostat was reading just above C when the temperature outside was around 05-06 Celsius (41-43 Fahrneheit) and didn't think twice about it as I was absorbing the red interior and cars flying by me on the autobahn. Now, it is around -09C (16F) outside and has been at around -02C (28F) the last few days and my thermostat is not increasing from a cold start at any point during my transit to work. Can anybody give me some troubleshooting tips or potential solutions? Parts for this car are difficult to get here so any advice at all would be much appreciated!

    (In-cab heater does work)
(Manual transmission, not that it has any correlation to the issue.)
