10 inch subs?

I've got a 1997 regular cab and wanna put a system in it. Someone suggested 10 inch subs, but I'm wondering where to put it. I heard a few of my friends in Ag class saying they're gonna put theirs in their toolbox. I've also got the wiring and buttons (in pictures) in my truck. They came with them when I bought the truck. Suggestions? I need help! :blink:
 
My thought is a 10" behind the seats centered.
Smaller wedge type, purchased enclosure.
Small amp based on speaker selection.

Buying from Sonic Electronics...

I am no audiophile, just want a little bass to balance things out.

I probably won’t get to my audio system until I have finished the move or a good fall day but want to hear how this is going ?

I haven't really done anything yet. I am starting to save up for a Kicker 10 inch and build my own enclosure because the style I would need is like.. $300 and I could build one and wire it for cheaper than that. Haha xD I'm actually working on the interior now. The top of the cab has the lining falling off and it's really disgusting looking and I'm replacing it with camouflage material and also accenting the dash and door panels. When I get that done I'll post some pictures. Mainly the subs are probably going to have to wait until after October is over. I go on vacation the end of October :D
 
I had 2 Kicker 10" subs behind the seats in my reg cab & they sounded great. They did sit right against the back of the seats but i never noticed any issues. Unfortunately they were stolen, i have a replacement set but dont have a head unit anymore to power them. I'll have to dig to see if i have any pics...

my friend had two 12s STUFFED behind the seats of a std cab.
Ya, the sound was there but he always ran it turned up.
I haven’t talked to him in a while but I am thinking he probably would be able to hear me anyway… lol.

"I am no audiophile, just want a little bass to balance things out”, but I would think if you find out the volume of space needed by each speaker and kept that to a mid size you could build an enclosure that would work behind the seats.

Again, I am buying my, $30 with the volume I need for my 10”.
Here is the page from the site I like to use. I am sure there are better units but for the prices they offer I think it is a deal.

I found this one ----> http://www.supercrewsound.com/RMP101_T45.html but like I said, it's $300. It's just so much easier to build my own. Plus I'd know it would fit and I wouldn't have to be frustrated with shipping it and then it not fit. That's just me though. Plus I'm going to do the interior with camouflage so I can do the enclosure in camouflage as well. Of course this enclosure comes with a 10" Thunder4500 Subwoofer. Price wise I'd be better off making my own and then buying the single sub and amp. Time wise I'd be better off buying this. unsure::pinch: I'm so torn! Also depends on how much I get on my few paychecks after I get back from vacation.
 
Ok on the MTX setup, doesn't look too bad.

I with you on building but I do not possess enough audio skills to build one correctly.
I am sticking to the smaller unit from Sonic and hope it will be enough.

My Dad is the one who will be helping me to wire everything. He's the one that is the audio savvy guy that can wire anything haha. Building will be easy. Wiring, not so much. That is what the Internet is for xD and an electric savvy Dad xD
