    torsion bar crossmember

Just picked up a new addition to the Ranger fleet, an '87 STX 2.9/5sp/4times4 but the torsion bar crossmember has turned back into iron ore:eek:. Anyone ever change one of these? p.s. I tried duct tape but it just doesn't seem to hold so well.....

    1993 ford ranger

my '93 does the same thing, I'm thinking that it's the thermostat or a clogged heater core but I'm too lazy to change it. It's been that way for two years.

    Ford radio crossovers

well, they just don't make hangers like they used to, you know? I actually have a radiator clamp holding my exhaust together in front of the muffler right now. It was going to be a quick fix but that was a month ago and I still havent picked up any more mig wire to fix it right..... Did I...

92' 2.3L Ranger will not start!

It's possible that your cat is clogged and by downshifting you jarred the honeycomb loose and then it lodged itself again. Just a thought.

    Shutters after new clutch

welcome to the site... It almost sounds like a new clutch on an old flywheel or one that someone sanded down instead of having it turned. When the disk goes bad it's a lot like a disk brake and pads, actually it's exactly like that. When your pads go bad they glaze the rotors and eventually...

    1993 Ranger XLT 4x4 3.0 automatic

There is a build tag either on the door or on the door jamb that gives all of the codes for axles, exterior and interior colors, etc. There are a couple places on the net that provide the code breakdowns just do a quick search and they will pop up. As far as budget building J.C. Whitney has a...

    A Few Questions

WTF??:thumbdown::thumbdown: If you're handy and have the time, switch the stick into the auto truck. If not there may just be something wrong with the auto shift linkage that it's showing that it's in a diffent gear but it's really staying in one or barely moving to another. If...

    Inertia switch

Patience, this site is still quite young and is growing every day. I cannot answer that either but I do know that some engines do have a low oil pressure "no start" switch. I just don't know anyone that ever tried to start a motor with no oil in it if that is what is being attempted. And...

    95 Ranger NEWB! truck leans?hm

I don't know, grab a level to make sure that the ground that the truck is sitting on is actually level. Sometimes when I park at work, even though it looks level it isn't which causes my truck to look contorted.

    trail worthy 85 q's

    1) Will this be a trail rig only? If so you can trim the hell out of the fenders and bed to clear 31's. If not, a 2-3 inch body lift will do the trick (not a fan but cheapest way to go) and you wont need to get the drop kit for the front to keep the wheels from pointing in which is what happens...

    Ranger

First, you have to define "hard". Nothing is hard with the right tools, the right amount of patience and the right amount of time. Do the math, measure an F-150 frame and measure a Ranger frame. I don't know why you would want to do this but I've learned to not question others ideas. If...

    95 Ranger NEWB! truck leans?hm

a common problem is the rear spring hangers tend to rot out and the springs push up. I haven't seen a 93-97 Ranger that didn't have rotted leaf spring hangers (unless they had already been changed). Welcome to the site!!
