ben.... its very easy to do... just pull the tensioner back with a half inch drive breaker bard... and pull the belt off... and throw a new one on...

im pretty sure they made a diesel ranger.... might google it .....
so is this truck 2wd.... so couldnt you just get a stock set of a 4wd ranger... theres plenty of shocks out there... on my chevys i usually ran...
im almost positive if you look at the mounts you will see the diff... but you could make one of those work pretty easy... we had another problem...

sounds like the slave cylinder......... these things usually fail in the winter... if im not mistaken.. i think its mounted in side the bellhousing

i would put a mechanical gauge on it to see if it is actually loseing oil pressure.... if its not... i would say the oil sending unit is bad......
is it showing any check engine lights.... how old is the plugs and wires... and fuel filter... how many miles
i would take it to autozone and have them read the transmission codes... and any possible engine codes... they should check them for free......
back about 10 years ago i tried this... and had some trouble.. i do remember there was a proble with the mount... i dont remember what all was...
you should look into a power programmer
whats it do ...does it shut down... i thought the rangers were limited at 99... have you thought about a programmer or somethinge like that.. that...
do you have inspections there... becouse if so .. it wont pass an sniffer inspection...
