I hate to say it but i'd say the new sensor isn't working. Why did you replace the sensor in the first place, if the old one is still working?

Denso Iridium is the way I went in an 05 Subaru Impreza STi. The punishment that car puts on plugs didn't phase them a bit, our Fords couldn't possible do them damage!

Your TDI is a VW not a ford, I have this issue with mine and have altered the way I drive to accomodate this issue. It is unconventional, but try letting off the throttle about a second before you depress the clutch and see if that helps you out. It's not a perfect situation, but seems to help...
