I had the same problem one side came off the other side would not come off no matter what I tried, ended up with a Dorman part # 800-050 and put on a new nylon piece with a steel to nylon coupler and a duck bill connector. will be alot easier the next time around.

I started using Amsoil in it when the truck had 41,000 on it. Used Amsoil in the diff, transfer case and tranny. It pays to use good oil.

I've used seafoam in it just last week. The truck has always seen 89 octane. Just thought I would try 87, so I will go back to the good stuff again.

I had 268,000 on my 87 2.9 4x4, still ran good when I sold it.

What octane gas do you use in your ranger, if I use 87 it pings been using 89 octane.

My 98 3.0 ranger has been cutting out when it just been started warm or cold, goes away after driven awhile. Had new plugs about 6 months ago. Anyone have any Idea's.

Where are the cam sensor bearings located on my 98 3.0 ranger.

Yes it does have a coil pack.

I just looked under the hood and my 98 ranger looks like it doesn't have a distributor, so I guess I won't have to worry about worn bushings.

Had the same problem, it was the tensioner.

Hello I have 98 3.0, has any one had problems with the crank sensor. Mine works fine , heard the bushings can wear out prematurely. I'm thinking of replacing mine. I have 170000 on it.
