Ford Ranger 1996 2.3L Parts help please!

If you call the dealer they will get you a part #. That way you can do a better search. Here is a p# for a Ford but it doesn't include the truck it goes into. With a p# you can see that the 96 clock spring is used in several other cars, GB5Z-14A664-F

My 5th and Reverse not working

Yesterday I went to shift to 5th and it had a hard time going into gear. I tried again and same thing it needed a harder push to go into gear. I figured it was a minor problem until I got home and tried to go into reverse. I doesn't stay in reverse. It pops out and even if I try to hold it with...

    Gar Fuel Filler Tube

I finally got the filler tube done. I had to make a tool to remove the bolts by welding a bar to them and getting them loose. I used different bolts to replace them. Mine were really rusted. Thanks again for the tip. Tony

    Gar Fuel Filler Tube

Ahhh good idea. I'm looking at the bolts that look like a torx bit. Did you have any trouble with rust or hard to remove? I will have to buy this torx bit. And what size? Dopes it require 2 people to lift the bed on one end? Thanks.

Original Radio in a 90 Ranger

This might sound weird but when I bought my 90 Ranger it came with a basic radio with no cassett player. I quickly found a radio with cassett in a local yard. After many years of owning this Ranger, Ive decided to restore it and bring it back to original. This model came with rubber mat, no head...

    Driver side Door Arm Rest

My driver side arm rest fell apart. I can't find one at the wrecking yards. Anybody have one or knows where to get one? Mine is red but it doesn't matter what color it is. Thanks. Tony

    Tach problems

That's weird because my 91 2.3L didn't come with a tach, and when I plugged one in from a 6 cyl it worked. I believe it's already there. The problem I have though is that the tack reads 333rpm less than it should because mine is a 4 cyl and the 6 cyl is configured different. At least I have a...

    Body parts.

Give Ford a call. Sometimes they still have (NOS) new old stock on the shelf. I don't think they will have the seats. That you can have redone. I have a original set of floor mats for the ranger if you are interested. Tony

    Carrying Capacity of 91 2X2 with 2.3

I have hauled more then 1k lbs several times. If you have to do steep climbs you will be going slow. And your leaf springs need to be in good shape. Tony

    Removed Gas Tank

Connector Hey RangerDave, The best thing to do is to go to a wrecking yard and cut one out of a truck. I don't think the dealer would even have this but I could be wrong. I live near a yard and they have about 6 Rangers and many Explorers. If you can find a truck with the bed off it would be a...

    Removed Gas Tank

Hey Jason, I couldn't remove the bed because it was already coated with a liner. I removed the tank myself and it wasn't too bad. If you have help, it would go by quicker. The bed removal needs two people as well. If you can, it is better to remove the bed, because you can check for rust and...

    Rubber Floor Mat

My 90 Ranger has a rubber floor mat that is falling apart. Anybody know where I can buy a new or used floor mat? I have checked the yards buy most are carpet and in real bad shape. I am trying to avoid the dealer for budget reasons. I assume the carpet will work in place of the rubber mat. Any...

    Wiper Motor and Blower Motor

Wiring I found out with my book that the wiper circuit and blower circuit don't work together. They are on separate fuses. The blower motor probably just needs a resistor. The wiper motor has a (internal governor) that is part of the motor assembly. If you replaced the motor and wiper switch...
