I have a 98 Ranger 4 cyl., 5 speed. It did not come with air conditioning, but I'd like to retrofit an AC into it. Has anyone done this before? If so, what are your recommendations?

Hello Paul and welcome to the forum! That will be quite an undertaking! Your best bet would be to find a donor vehicle with working AC (maybe a roll-over or bad trans) that you can get for cheap. Obviously, there are a lot of components you will need to add/change to make that happen. I think the duct work inside the dash is different, so the dash will have to come out as well as the controls, compressor, evaporator, condenser, dryer and all the lines... not to mention wiring. Definitely not for the faint of heart! Good luck!

Thanks, maybe I'll hold off on it for a while.
