It probably wouldn't hurt anything if you added at the time of a fill but I tell most people 60 days for mower gas, then put anything left over in the car and get new.

I have never thought about gas/oil mix though and the Stabil is the thing that bothers me.
Why risk it throw it out... !

I wouldnt put it in your truck.

scrambler, why would the stabil worry you more than the oil mixed in?

More of a concern that the Sta-Bil will have an affect on the rubber parts in the fuel system. I won’t use it on even my smallest of engines, i.e. Lawn Mowers and Chain Saws.

I have heard story about people using gas (not saying how old it was) but burning out chain saws with gas that was held over the winter and had sta-bil in it. Could be just the gas, maybe they forget ot shake it up but for me no Stabilizers.

    Weird.

I've used stabil in all my sleds over summer and it never causes any issues whatsoever. Put a gallon of gas in em with stabil, run it through the machine for about 5 minutes. Then store it for the summer.
Always fires right up come winter and no problems with wearin out rubber hoses...

Oil in the gas would worry me much more in an engine not designed for it.

Fuel stabilizer is designed to be in there. Idk.

I use stabil a bit, what may have happened with your friend is he possibly either forgot it wasnt a mix ratio or had the mix wrong. Ive never had a problem with it

we use it a lot around here for storing our chainsaws, generators, weed whackers, lawn mowers, everything over winter. and sleds over summer. never ever had a single issue with it. everything always fires up
