Hooligan
Rangerholic!!
I have been pretty busy lately, between work, firewood the storm and other nonsense. I have been busting my butt humping wheel barrows full of wood all year from my front yard to my back yard and it was wearing me down. I looked around for something verstile to help out in more ways than one, and I found this for next to nothing!!!
This is an 05 Honda Rancher TRX400FA. Four wheel drive with 1100 hours on it.
I got a large wagon to haul the split fire wood with and it is a huge help! I figured I would also look into getting a plow for it as well. I had another quad years ago with a plow years ago and it was great, but had to sell it in my divorce.
I looked around at local dealers and they had plow setups that ranged from 1100.00 to 1500.00 which was way beyond my budget. I was able to sell my snowblower and came up with enough to buy a kit on ebay made by cycle country and also a KFI winch mount and KFI winch. The kit I got was 1/4 the cost the dealers wanted and it was the same parts!! I did the install myself (first for me), it was a bit of a pain with the wiring because the plastics had to be pulled off but I got it done!
During the hurricane I worked a few hours overtime and I was able to grab this trailer to move the quad so I can use it to plow out my families' houses too.
Overall with everything, its been busy, but worth it. I was able to finish the firewood alot quicker and now I am set for winter with the wood and the plow! I feel pretty greatful I was able to find these things for a steal on Craigslist!
