I would check Autotrader.com for similar trucks within a 50 mile radius.
Also if you could scrape the frame rust and paint with POR15, that might help raise the value some, or at least be less discouraging to potential buyers.

"heavy frame rust" = I'll trade ya' for a pack of Kools and a ham sandwich.

...too bad, too. Its a nice looking truck.

dude look up the kbb value or nada that will tell you what your truck is worth. You have to be honest with yourself while doing this too. Your frame counts as poor quality, I think you said something about your body paint beng rough before. Its all what someones willing to pay

if there arn't any rot holes in the frame it's saveable, wire brush the scale off and brush paint it with black rustolium if you don't plan on keeping it ( rustolium is cheaper than POR15, looks about the same when finished. )

if you've got rear spring hangers rotting off, or severe body rot, peices falling off, ect, THAT's heavy rust, lol.

pretty it up a bit and you could probibly get $3500 for it, scince it's got no miles.

yea hopefully i can find a nice cherokee i like a dealer and trade my truck in towards that so i dont have to deal with selling it by myself.

^ If you trade it in autotrader was going to give you what 2k? A dealer which thats what that was was a dealers offer, but it most likely may be lower then that since its a 96

I'd guess the $2k range would be about right. It's a 2wd, 4 banger, reg cab, probably basic interior.. no power windows or locks? auto or 5sp?

I'd hit the frame with a wire wheel on a drill or grinder to remove as much of the rust as possible and at least spray it with some rustoleum type paint or even bedliner to help slow future rust as much as possible.
You'd be surprised how much better it would look with $20 worth of paint & a weekend's worth of grinding.
