Hey all! I have a 96 Ford Ranger rwd 5 speed with the 2.3L. It's not much but it gets me where I need to go and always fires up for me. It has been a good first car but things are starting to bug me about it that the previous owner did not care to fix such as interior things or putting copious amounts of stop leak in the radiator. All in all it runs well and does what I need it to do.

That being said, I am on the lookout for a new headliner piece and a new center console box. My headliner looks like a cat got in there and took it out on the roof and the center console box has a broken latch and is currently being held shut by a bungie cord. I have called dealer after dealer and nobody seems to carry either of those parts. Any suggestions?

  3. Junk yards are your best friend when even the dealer cannot find it

Edit: The center console is a typical fix on the Rangers. All of em do that.

Thanks. Any thoughts on how to fix the center? I tried glue, epoxy, jb weld, and some cement looking mix my neighbor had. Now the post that locks it shut is missing. Though it won't be for a few years yet, I will be looking to sell this truck at some point and would like to get it all in working order now.

  6. Raid the junk yard and see if you can find one that works. It's cheaper than brand new and easier than fixing it.

hey man welcome to the forum. i took the console lid apart and glued the crack shut. then i took a sheet of plywood cut it to the size of the lid and glued it the back. then i put the foam back on and used new vinyl. im using velcro to hold my center console lid down for now.
