I actually had time yesterday and today to start on the Mickey Thompsons. I figured if they didn't sell I would sand down the rear part of the rim (Thanks to Buggmans idea) prime it and paint it so they didnt look so god awful with all that crap built up! I finished painting the rims this afternoon. I went with a Satin Black color. Primer and primer sealer First coat of paint All dry after 3 light coats I also got the time to clean up the prototype Shelby Girdle, and prime it up!! Primed Primer seal I have 2 coats of paint on it, drying as we speak so no pics yet!

Those wheels look pretty good like that man. I am wanting to get mine done soon. I haven't decided if I'm going to powdercoat them and then have them dipped in chrome for a black chrome finish or just a flat/satin black finish. Can't wait to see them on your rig.
Thanks, you won't see it too well, It's just the back side that is done. The face of the rim is getting wet sanded next week and polished!
I probably should have noticed that, I thought you were painting the whole wheel lol. Still not a bad idea. Any suggestions for the best polish?
I got that new meguairs kit and never used it so I will have to let you know. When I first did my wheels I shredded two polishing balls. I think they were mothers. They blew up like it took a shot from a 50 cal rifle lol
Looks good! It took me a minute to figure out why your rims looked so weird, then I realized it was the back of the rims...as stated in the post
lol...you noticed huh? I see it as money in the bank! Call the show on me though, I'll spit on their camera crews like the old crazy cat ladies! Thanks dude. It was easier that I thought. Taping it all up was tedious but worth it
I am going to wet sand the face of the rims and polish them up nice! Here is the Shelby girdle painted. I used a ceramic paint for calipers and drums I still have some accent painting to do so it doesn't look like just a red ball
if i had the cash and the way to come and get them i would have taken them off your hands.... but the way work is scheduled now id had to leave from work on thursday and hope to be back by saturday.... lol
