Okay, let me just say that the truck was idling at this point and it was still dropping. This drop happens immediately after all of the off road lights are put on and only my fog lights and parking lights are on. Before: After they're all on: Definitely gonna grab an expo alternator when I get the chance until I can afford to get a bigger aftermarket one

That's only because the off road lights are all on. Did I not say that? Haha. When I'm driving the truck with em on the battery don't drop nearly as much. FIXED.
Yeah haha. I wanted a fixer upper, but bit off more than I can chew. This was actually when I was waiting for you lol
I'd save up for a 200-250a alternator rather than do the job 2 or 3 times. The 130 will be better than the stock 90+/- but that's a lot of amperage getting drawn.
I don't have the money for it right now. I'd rather have a slightly stronger one and be able to run the lights than keep this one and kill the battery. I mean, it's only $20 from the yard for it. So why not? Haha
lol You're welcome Mac. I actually found an expo being parted out on CL, so I shot the guy an email seeing how much he wanted for the alternator if it was a 4.0
i also need an expo alt. even though my LEDs draw little power and i don't use them much, my system does lol
theres also no guarentee the JY alternator is gonna work...i agree with terry just save up and buy a good one like he said rather than have to do the job twice...you might as well put a new serp. belt on when you swap the alternator
You I should see what mine is with all the strobes and my sub on, i always turn off my sub because i dont want to fry my alternator
I would be looking at the mileage of the truck before I pulled it and try to find the lowest one. Yeah, there's no gaurantee but for $20 compared to $100, why not? Haha
My alt always tests good when I test it, but man....she drops to 12.1 with heads, fogs, and heater on full blast @ idle. Everywhere else it's great(obviously lol). Yay for 95a stock ford part with 130k on it. I'm not too disappointed in my need to sometime replace it with something far better. If anything, grab a rebuilt one from an auto parts store.....warranty, somewhat cheap, and it gives good peace of mind. Rather than dealing with a JY unit where the vehicle may have had 200k before it gave up, thus being the reason it's at the JY in the first place. That's what I'll be doing as I don't have the kind of load that requires a freakin' 200a alt...even with my 4 130w KC's.
