i would say it's got the trailhead package ( like a 2wd edge but for '98-'00 trucks)... i rember reading somewhere it came stock with 16" wheels & bigger tires, Tbars, fog lights, and some other goodies. they were supposed to appeal to younger buyers who wanted the look of a 4x4 but didin't want to spend the extra $ for a transfer case & axles. i don't think they sold very well though, i never see 'em around.
Saw your other thread and your research is correct... 2000 Ford Ranger Trailhead. It's basically exactly like a 4x4 XLT except without a front axle. A precursor to the Ranger Edge and Ranger Sport as we know the 2wd torsion bar trucks today. Was '00 only if memory serves me correctly and are quite rare. Same engine/trans options as the later Edges and Sports. When I mention Sport, I'm referring to the 06+ trucks, not the 99-00 Sport.
Awesome !! Part of me wants to get spindles and a BL but then I keep remembering a bought it as a dd lmao
I wouldn't be buying a 3.0 or 4.0 Ranger for a DD. 2.5 FTW. 2.5 or 2.3 with a turbo? FTMFWinning!! 25mpg in town? 30mpg highway? 300hp when it need it? Awesome panty droppingness WINNING.
