Yes, I wish I would have thought of that. I actually found one at the yard today that has the black surround and it is 1000 times better..
Unless you have a silver thing going on inside the cab that is..

You can always take the clear front off and paint that trim piece. I painted mine gray & it really sets off the cluster.

Doing your new one in black should be even easier.

Not a bad Idea Terry. I still have some blue paint left over ha. And those lights are green which will work out perfectly.

If you need one, I've got plenty of spare good shape/no scratch ones. Pay for shipping + $5 and I'll shoot one your way.

Thanks for the offer Shane but I'll go ahead and take mine off for now and paint it black. Im going to paint the outside part of the dash blue!!! Also does anyone know what size star it is to get that plastic clear cover off?

Ok I'm dumb founded. Am I installing them wrong? I have half of the cluster working and the other half isn't working. Does anyone have any pictures on how the leds sit in the little sockets?

It looks better with the black needle caps. If you have the grey needle caps, the silver surround fits better.

    Why are you yelling??

T10 or T15, can't remember. They're also hex-head, and I believe that to be 1/4". IDK...I just keep finding sockets and/or torx screw drivers til I find the right one...

You are aware LED's are polarized right? They'll only work one way in the socket...

Shane I wasn't yelling lol. And I am no means doubting your word, but it looks smaller than a 10 but like I said you are proly right since you took it apart more times than I have.

Dude just use a socket on there.. its like 5/16 I believe.. 6mm is a hair too big I do remember that, cause I started to round one of mine off:eek:

    5/16 = 8mm. 6mm = 1/4 = 4/16. So it cant be a 5/16.

I do believe they are 7/32 in size.

Are you going to separate the Clear front from the blk rear portion of the Cluster Cover ?

It is glued, how does someone take that apart without damaging the clear front ?

Why I askā€¦ I purchased an aluminum face that goes around the gauges to separate them.
My problem is how to separate the clear plastic from the blk part without damaging the clear.

How are you guys doing this ?
