Oh man.. I know for sure you can find an 8.8 with 3.73s that's actually really common !

Yeah I got the same problem Ryan.. 3.73s not too bad, I can live with it but the open diff really grinds my gears..

  6. Pardon my ignorance, but isn't the open diff where both back wheels are engaged rather than the limited slip that only engages one?

Other way around Pete.. if your wheels break loose and it let's one wheel spin that's an open diff, as to where limited slip/posi trac 'limits the slipping' by transferring the power to the wheel that's not spinning..

  8. Well then my buddy's retarded. Posi is what I thought an open diff has. lol

no sir, positrac is one of the specific makers name, and ls is someone elses..
I think fords is sensi track

  10. I have the track lok axle, but that's traction control more than positraction

    Let's see here. A MINIMUM of $250 for a L/S (reliable). $100 for a rebuild kit, $300 for labor, PLUS another $60 for u-bolts.

So total of around $700. OR go to a JY like I suggested and get a used axle for around $200.

    Do the math.
