throttle cable

    I have a 1997 ranger. The throttle cable detached from gas peddle. anyone know how it reattaches.Where can I see a diagram online

    Go to local hardware store and get a cable clamp (they are pinched onto the end of the cable...that should work. When done, use zip strips to take up any slack in the cable. Or if it's stretched, replace the whole cable, they are'nt that much.

    Thanks for the info. I was going to get a new cable but ford parts says they are no longer being made. Do you know where I can get one?

    unfortunately the throttle cable on the link you provided is not already available (might be sold already) but you have a point, looks like i will just spend my time searching/befriending w/ ebay :thumbsup: i dunno which site is the gives the best value for ford parts so for the meantime i'll just search on ebay just like everybody is the doing.
