Hey Dchad, have you tried those 2" spacers yet? I'm curious to find out how they're working out for you. I'd like to have a little wider stance for my Ranger too

My dad is having the exact problem with his 02' Explorer. He has changed everything we can possibly think of, yet there's still the constant growling sound. His seems to be coming more from the passenger side. Good luck with your problem. Maybe one day we'll all get it figured out

I vote for the 4.0 6cyl. I had a 94' with a 5-speed & now my 02' automatic. Great motors with plenty of pulling power. I'd definitely go with a hitch instead of using the bumper though

Believe me, that doesn't happen very often. 1 1/2hrs 1 way is the norm for me. Luckily the truck is doing very well. Keeping my fingers crossed

Whoa!! You're very lucky!! My 94' Ranger had the same junk Mazda 5-speed. I tore the cluster out of it. Driving that GMC around will make you appreciate the old Ranger even more. Good luck!!!

Whoa Zappy, you tore the step clear off the bed!! Hope you're ok after that mess. Looks like a good time to do a disc brake swap for the rest end. Hopefully you won't have much trouble finding parts. Just looks like you could use some better weather to work on it!

Thanks mhoward!! I absolutely am. Fortunately I've been off work during this whole ordeal. I start back at a new location this Wed & it's only about 15 min from my house, so I guess I'll get to break it back in slowly.

Well hopefully tomorrow will be a good day. I'm supposed to get my truck back. This makes the 3rd time it's been in the tranny shop. They keep getting bad valve bodies. The truck gets stuck in 2nd gear & won't shift into drive. I guess we'll see how well it works this time!!

I've got a question for you guy. My son has a 02' Ford Escape with a 4cyl. When you lift off the gas the throttle sticks for a few seconds, wether you rev it in neutral or are in drive. Any ideas on a fix for this problem???? Thanks

Yeah I've never seen that type either on a Ranger. My 94' F150 had that style, but even my 94' Xcab Ranger had the cable type. I'll keep researching.
