Will a tranny from a 95 work in my 98

I have a 98 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 and automatic. My tranny went out the other day and I found a great deal on one out of a 95 explorer. Both had the 4.0. Just wondering if its the same automatic tranny and will work in my truck.
